About Jon Courson:
Searchlight with Pastor Jon Courson is heard daily on hundreds of radio stations in the US and around the world. In addition, many others listen to Jon’s daily bible teachings offered on podcasts through their website. He is the pastor of Applegate Christian Fellowship in Southern Oregon. Since 1977 Courson has amassed more than 1,500 expositional and topical Bible studies. He is the author of A Future and a Hope; A Day's Journey; A Place for You; A Pillar By Day, and Footsteps of the Flock. He has also authored the 3-volume Jon Courson's Application Bible Commentary.
In 1977, Jon Courson founded the Applegate Christian Fellowship, a non-denominational church in 1977 with a congregation of twenty people. Since that time the church has grown significantly. Today thousands of people attend Applegate Christian Fellowship each week. In order to accommodate continual growth they have also planted several other local churches where many others attend.
In 2002, Courson accepted a request to join his longtime mentor and friend Chuck Smith at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa. In 2006 he moved back to Oregon where he co-pastors Applegate Christian Fellowship with his son Ben.
Jon lives in Southern Oregon with his wife Tammy. They have four children and two grandchildren. Jon's first wife went home to be with the Lord a number of years ago. Jessie, his eldest daughter, went home to be with the Lord when she was 16 years old.
